Visiting Mecca

For those Muslims (or non-Muslim) interested in the Hajj or wanting more information on acutally visiting Mecca feel free to contact me or leave a comment.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unlike Rome, Jerusalem, Salt Lake City, or Lhasa; "non-believers" are not welcome in the city of Mecca. By "not welcome" I mean that if one is not Muslim and is caught in Mecca, then that person is going to die. This is because Mecca is run by extremists (yet horrifyingly close to "mainstream" Islam) known as Wahhabis. The Wahhabis have started a program where historical sites are demolished to avoid "idolatry."

One of the things to survive this urban renewal is The Prophet’s Mosque - the Final Resting Place of the Messenger of Allah. And now all infidels can gaze into its outdoor glory. VRMAG now has a full panoramic image here.
