Virtual Geography Convention 2013: Satellite Sandwich Technique Improves Analysis of Geographical Data

Welcome to the Virtual Geography Convention 2013!  If you have a presentation or blog post you wished published please contact me at catholicgauze [at] gmail [dot] com!

Bo Yang, a University of Cincinnati graduate student in geography, is presenting "Spatiotemporal Cokriging Images Fusion of Multi-Sensor Land Surface Temperature over Thaw Lakes on North Alaska" at the Association of American Geographers conference.

While this is say above my head Science Daily does its best to break it down on the simplest level
"Combining parallel data from separate satellites can be like trying to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich."

In short, by overlaying different data concerning the same area Bo was able to gain a better understanding of the place he was studying.
