New Scientist has an interesting article on USArray's mission to map the geology of the United States. USArray is a seismic observatory which seeks to monitor seismic activity and map an geologic activity. The hope is scientists will be able to apply gained knowledge to not only understand the geologic underworld of the United States but aide in predicting earthquakes even better.
